What's New in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018

The 1st of December is the launch day of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018, Microsoft ERP for small and medium businesses.

Deeper Microsoft products integration. The new release is integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365, PowerApps, Flow, Office 365,  Power BI and third-party applications connecting them in the same environment, to guarantee a complete software solution for S&MB.

Extensibility with Extensions. Dynamics NAV 2018 has a new, modern, state-of-the-art extensibility model which will enable to extend and customise clients’ current Dynamics NAV solution to further fulfill their business needs.

Advanced algorithms amalgamate AI. Totally new features in Dynamics NAV 2018 include Microsoft’s Cognitive services. These services use advanced algorithms which allow users to amalgamate artificial intelligence into the applications. Automatic facial, speech and language recognition can be employed in HR contexts and automate procedures. Product recognition places items in the correct categories by providing much more automatization in product management.

Interaction with Microsoft Flow. Dynamics NAV 2018 boasts a wealth of core improvements including the interaction with Microsoft Flow which will further improve finance procedures by speeding up approvals processes.

New optimized User Interface. Dynamics NAV 2018 has a renewed User Interface and layout to improve the user experience.

Integration API. To empower developers and service providers to easily integrate with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft is adding a REST API based on web services with easy-to-use authentication. The entities in the API can be used on their own or in combination with extensions when there is a need to add user interface elements or business logic Dynamics NAV. The first iteration of the API publishes common record types, including company information, customer, vendor, employee, item (product), sales order, sales invoice, account, and journal.

Personalize your workspace. Personalize your workspace to your tastes and work style! With our upcoming personalization tool built directly into Dynamics NAV, all it takes is a few clicks to display the right data for your role and your business or optimize for data entry in the browser.

Preview and Print Reports. Invoices, tax reports, checks and balance sheets – our upcoming Report Preview feature will display all kinds of reports directly in Dynamics NAV without having to download as a file (also there will be a possibility to print directly from the browser).

Analyzing Financial Statements in Microsoft Excel. In the Business Manager and Accountant Role Centers, you can choose which financial statements to view in Excel from a drop-down menu in the Reports section of the ribbon. When you choose a statement, it will be opened in Excel or Excel Online. An add-in connects the data to Financials.
